First Steps in learning to surf

Lets get this right, first steps are never the easiest. But the first steps in learning to surf with Sunwave Surfcamp in Fuerteventura are always pure fun.

In the beginning ...

... there is always the search for the surfspot of the day and the hour, as with the weather and the tides we have at least two main influences that help us determine the right spot for the right course. With our beginner courses we like to go to surfspots with a sandy and easy to access beach, while for our more advanced classes the riffs of the north shore of Fuerteventura are always fine and guarantee good clean fun but also request more skills and understanding of the surfer.

Warm up & instructions on the beach

Before jumping into the waves, our instructors give hints of what to take care. We learn how the water is flowing to the shore and where and how to detect currents and riptides. Also every surfer should be aware of how to deal with the special conditions once in the waves and how to prevent accidents with other surfers and of course with the own board.
